Nora Nivens
Founder | Minister | Mental Health Practitioner | Advocate for Women’s Healing
’m Nora Nivens—founder and director of Restored Canada, a faith-based charitable organization devoted to walking alongside women as they rise from the ashes of domestic violence and reclaim their voices, their healing, and their lives.
My professional journey began in the heart of service: working as a social worker with the Government of Alberta, I supported families navigating crisis, child protection, and complex trauma. I then transitioned into teaching in high-risk communities, where I witnessed firsthand how cycles of violence, poverty, and broken systems continue to impact vulnerable women and children.
But my deepest qualifications don’t come from a textbook—they come from personal experience. I am a survivor of domestic violence, a mother, a minister, and a woman who has walked through the fire. I’ve faced the system I used to work within—this time as someone seeking refuge, not offering it. I’ve known what it’s like to rebuild from nothing, to cry out to God for justice, and to rise again—restored, refined, and deeply rooted in faith.
That is why Restored Canada exists—not just as an organization, but as a movement. Under my leadership, we are building holistic, trauma-informed healing lodges, offering peer mentorship, legal and emotional advocacy, and spiritual restoration through the teachings of Jesus Christ. We walk with women who’ve been silenced by abuse, misjudged by legal systems, or forgotten in correctional facilities, and we remind them: You are not alone. You are not beyond redemption. You were made to rise.
This work isn’t just what I do—it’s who I am. It’s my ministry. My mission. My calling. And it’s just the beginning.
