Bars To Blessings: The Mentorship

Acts 3:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you

Integration of our 21 Day program creates opportunities for those called to lead with God.

Some people have been handed a life sentence. Some young, some old. Prison becomes home for a lifetime, and yet our bodies are our true temples in which we call home. What if after completing our 21 day program, you felt called to lead other prisoners to a life of freedom within? To create an ever lasting impact on those prisoners who will see the outside of the prison walls again and have physical freedom out in the world?

Restored has a mission and it’s about restorative justice. Sometimes young men and women make choices based on peer groups, lack of self confidence, trauma, environmental stressors. The leadership team at RESTORED. believes everyone has a change for restoration; Sometimes young men and women live a life surrounded by gang members because they lack family connection or didn’t have family at all; sometimes children are born addicted to drugs and started their life off facing adversity; every human has a story and sometimes it takes a person who is living confined to the walls of the prison to mentor others who will have a second chance at life.

Through dedicated training, studying and strategic planning, our mentorship program led by Kaleigh MacDonald will assist in guiding in-prison and online programming to ensure our Mentors are equipped in the Gospel, Prayer, Connection and life skills beyond the prison walls. As we teach the word of Jesus Christ in a non-secular, non-denominational way, you will see we work with relationships, not religion; Spirit led. Ephesians 4:8 Jesus led captivity captive and gave gifts to men. The gift of mentorship, love and the word of Christ is a true gift we can offer people in our prisons. Establishing grace in a place where people are physically and most often spiritually captive to the mind, we promote healing modalities that can be used anywhere, any place any time to get us through challenging times. This can include Prayer, Live Stream Service, Bible Study, Fire Talks, Post Prison Planning, Family reunification, Art Therapy, and community, all led by our designated in Prison Mentors. Apsotle Paul encourages believers to walk in a manner worth of their calling (Ephesians 4:1) and that is the foundation of RESTORED. ‘s mentorship program.

As the mentors lead their individual and small groups back to the true freedom of forgiveness of self and others, they build a sense of confidence in their mentees. To inspire deep seeded change within the hearts of those who can truly have a second chance at life when they leave this season behind.

The Spirit of the Lord [is] upon Me, because He has anointed Me [the Anointed One, the Messiah] to preach the good news (the Gospel) to the poor; He has sent Me to announce release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to send forth as delivered those who are oppressed [who are downtrodden, bruised, crushed, and broken down by calamity]
